To achieve higher yield in the production of automotive parts, a Hong Kong based production company of automotive consumables has granted a development project to Hurli. The trust of the Hong Kong company in Hurli’s competence lays in the Dutch quality of factory automation systems. The development will increase the yield of the production significantly based on proven concepts of Hurli.
In Besancon France, bi-annually the Micronora fair is organized. Micronora is focussed on precision engineering and has a similar scope as the Precision Fair in Eindhoven. Syntens, together with Hurli wants to exploit the possibilities of collaboration between The Besancon area and the Eindhoven area. On June 8, 2011 a delegation from Besancon will visit Eindhoven. March 17, 2011 Hurli attended the Brainport Health innovation congress in the Evoluon in Eindhoven, Netherlands. The intention was to orientate on the initiatives in health innovation projects. Israel has specific competences in high tech systems.
Science and technology in Israel is one of the country’s most developed sectors. The percentage engaged in scientific and technological inquiry, and the amount spent on R&D is amongst the highest in the world.
Israeli scientists have contributed to the advancement of mechatronics, diagnostics, data analysis, medical, optics and solar.
In the trade mission Dutch companies will search for a comptence match with the high tech industry in Israel.
On 19 February 2011 Hurli has visited the FIRST Lego League, Benelux final in Kerkrade NL. Children between 8 and 15 years have constructed and programmed lego robots to execute defined missions. They have worked in teams guided by their schools. After regional combats, the final 100 teams played the finals in Kerkrade. Besides the performance of the robots, also the presentation of the team and a medical product proposal was part of their experience in technology. The leguage is organized by Stichting Techniek Promotie, based on an international format from FIRST.

As a follow up of the Certification program for post-academic precision engineering education, DSPE will announce a continuous learning program for precision engineers in industry and institute. Hurli will help to organize this initiative.
The first half of 2011 for 2 days a week Hurli will support the engineering transfer activities of ASML to the Asian Centre of Excellence (ACE) of ASML in Taiwan.
In 2011, the Leidse Instrumentmakers School celebrates their 110 years anniversary. In the Autumn of 2011 a seminar will be held, which will be linked to the 8-projects initiative of the Technology Investment Roadmap (See in messages).
As an successing activity of the Technology Investment Roadmap, the DSPE is developing activities in collaboration with Brainport industries, with involvement of Hurli.
